Just like Tim Kelly's blues

I took the plunge and bought one of the dusty 2 litre bottles of dnL at QFC last night. I poured the warm fluid over some ice cubes and sipped it. It's like a caffeinated 7uP. I don't think it's going to adhere to my crave database, but it's nice, and it wound me up so much I stayed up late rereading old "DTWO4" and "Rose is Rose" collections. (Pat Brady used to be pretty sharp, but the strip these days isn't much.) I drank a little more this morning to prepare for the trip out to Alki Beach. So much 7uP flavor in such a short time reminds me of the summer of 1976, when I drank all the 7uP I could get to collect the cans so I could build the Uncle Sam can tower. I might have burned out on the stuff.

Warm soda over ice? There's your first mistake, my friend. It must be cold, straight from the refrigerator when poured over ice.

Plus, also, it needs to be brown, but that's just nitpcking.

I've still got a 2-liter bottle under the kitchen sink. I actually forgot it was there!

Is it still good? I suspect the dnL I got is a little flattish -- 7uP is usually pretty skippy with carbonation. Not too bad though.

I'm sure it's flat by now.
